About The Artist
Terri Howell
I am a retired teacher living and painting in Muskoka not too far from Algonquin Park.
The Muskoka and Algonquin landscapes are endlessly inspiring. From the moment I arrived her in 1978 I was awed by the ever changing light and beauty of the sparkling lakes and diverse forests. I get excited every time I put paint on a board or canvas. My subjects range from pure landscapes to landscapes that celebrate people surrounded by the expanse and forces of nature. I try to capture the feeling I get on each day I paint, from those warm summer breezes to the cool days of fall. I also like to celebrate women and children enjoying the great outdoors.
My husband and I, and our springer spaniel, Scout, live on 70 acres of forested land near Skeleton Lake. We are located close to Georgian Bay, Bracebridge and Huntsville. We have a small 100 tap maple syrup bush and we keep a small boat on Skeleton lake. Though I can't stop progress as a painter, I can certainly celebrate the simpler times, when a cottage was just that. These old dears are quietly slipping away and being replaced with full time homes. I love to paint these decrepit, old, dusty buildings and the sinking boat houses on their shores to remind us of when times were much simpler.
All my paintings are for sale unless otherwise noted. I wrap for shipping. You will find my paintings quite affordable. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to have real art hanging on their walls.
